Horizontal Scrolling

Horizontal scrolling is scrolling sideways within a web browser's window. Users must scroll horizontally when a site has content that is wider than the browser window.

Hotspot

It is the active (click-able), area of an interface element such as banner ad, navigation item or image. Also referred to as a target.

HTML

HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. It is used to create web pages that can be viewed through a web browser. The language consists of elements and attributes that are used to structure and format content.

HTTP

HTTP stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol. It is the system used to transfer a webpage to your computer. As in http://www.webworldexperts.com.

HTTPS

HTTPS stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol over SSL (Secure Socket Layer). It is a TCP/IP protocol (Transfer control protocol/Internet Protocol) used by Web servers to transfer and display Web content securely. The data transferred is encrypted so that it cannot be read by anyone except the recipient.

It is used by any Web site that is collecting sensitive customer data such as banking information or purchasing information. If an online transaction is done, you should make sure that it is done over HTTPS so that the data remains secure and protected.

Hyperlink

An image or portion of text that is highlighted usually underlined on the Web and which links the current document to another (webpage or file) or a different part of the same document.
